Here is where I got this idea: http://gardenpool.org/online-classes/how-to-make-a-simple-5-gallon-bucket-aeroponics-system
YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eMt3kCUYnw
Materials I used:
– (1) 5 gallon food grade bucket from Lowes – .97
– (1) 5 gallon bucket lid from Lowes – .18
– (1) 1/2″ X 12″ cut-off threaded poly riser – Less than
– (1) Tube to half inch adapter at Lowes – Less than
– (1) Male/Female 1/2” coupling – Less than
– (1) 360 degree 1/2” plastic head threaded sprinkler head – Less than
– (1) 158 gallon per hour water pump (EcoPlus 185) – -16 — http://amzn.to/1LEiRsS
– (1) Electrical timer from The Goodwill – .99
– (7) 3” net pots from local hydro store – .35 each. — http://amzn.to/1T7oxO4 (These may differ from mine)
– (7) 3” neoprene (foam) lids from local hydro store – each.
That is a nice setup. I like the fact that your "reservoir" is actually the bucket itself rather than a big tub sitting off to the side with all the piping. This is a very nice setup for those who want to grow indoors or those with limited space, like on a balcony or porch. Thanks for sharing.
can I make one just to grow a (1) plant from start to finish?
Simple system, it's wonderful to see how to the future unfolds all these new grow systems.
Cool video,,thanks mate

Can someone explain the whole "clone" thing?
you need air to lift the nute soln', not a pump. Look into dewey mister design. air wont change the temp of solution like a pump will.
how long do you water each growling ? like to you leave the pump on 24/7 ?
Can you provide details on the sprinkler head? I'm using a lawn & garden head and it doesn't seem to get all my 6 sites wet. To test it, I put a little piece of toilet paper in each net pot. 2 of 6 got soaked, the other 4 were barely moist. Not sure why it's not hitting all 6. Thank you
do not use a drill in reverse to cut holes..just get a bit with finer teeth. it's cheaper than replacing the drill.
Whats wrong with not using food grade is it the bpa?
Does the stem of the clones needs to be sumerge under the water?
Does this pump make a noise?
Do you think this would work with a smaller pump?
What kind of nutrients for this?
where did you get sprinkler head
Great Thanks
Garden Pool has a LOT of good vids/info.
also i would suggest getting a darker color lid white might possibly promote algae growth
where did you buy the pump?
It should be pointed out that pvc plumbing parts ARE perfectly food-safe. It's only during manufacture or incineration of pvc that harmful toxins are released. The finished product is fine for plumbing of drinking water and such in your home. You DO however want to run away from it if it's in a fire, so don't ever try to burn scrap pieces, or even most plastics for that matter anyway.
a cheap tripod will improve your quality
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!
