I would have just wrapped the whole moss ball in the burlap, it would have made attaching it to the board easier. My Q is, what is gonna keep the wood from rotting due to water? Don’t ferns require a good bit of water?? I don’t have one of these but I do have an asparagus fern that I have to water quite frequently.
I also try to not spend much on my plants. The most expensive one was 20 dollars plus tax( marble queen pothos). A lot of my plants where 3 dollars each (begonias, diffenbachia, Croton fire bush, bird'snest, two different types of fittonias, echivaria, and haworthia, aloe tiger at least I think it's called). 5 dollars for a Jade plant and Janet Craig. 10.00 for donkeys tail, satin pothos, Hoya I'm not sure which one it is but it's varigated could be a krimson queen idk. And 13 dollars for a money tree. And I also got 3 nodes of a neon pothos hopefully it will do fine I see some roots so hopefully. Oh and I also have 3 different lucky bamboos which where 6, 7 and 11 dollars. My wish list for RightNow is a moonlight philodendron, varigated SOH hopefully but if I find a regular one I'll take it too, a gold dust Croton, moon shine, ponytail, zz plant, an alocasia idk which one yet they are so pretty. I think that is it for now. I am a mom I don't want to have too much big plants yet specially if they are poisonous if the plants are small I can put them up on a shelf out of reach. If not I would be having monsteras, birds of paradise and some type of ficus on that wish list as well. So for right now I can't really go plant crazy.
Lol i was really surprised how difficult it was for you. I did my staghorn with ease and I cut my own plywood and sealed it myself… You need to try more hands- on activities now and then! Good qualities to have.

I love the idea of the bird nest fern. Also you can get a good size staghorn fern at Armstrong off of Huntington in Monrovia for 14.99. I just got mine today and was looking for a vid on how to mount it. Thanks for the pointers. Wish me luck.
