Isn't it bad to allow sunlight to get to the roots, and into where the nutes go? I could be wrong, but I've heard it's bad for sunlight to get inside your reservoir as it can promote algae growth. Would these caps do the same?

Dude look into uniseals bulkhead fittings no go for me after one time use of uniseals plus u can put them almost anywhere even round surfaces. Check them out might make or save u some money in the long run. Just dont order them in a hurry. U.S. plastics seems to be the cheapist so far. Took for ever to get them in and my fish were pissed in 10 gal containers. Plan ahead or call in pearson to verify stock. Peace
Get vinyl fence post from lows there bigger and clog less from the roots. And light with clear end caps is cool just the algee bloom is going to go nuts as light gets into your system leads to all kind of problems with PH & nutrient issues causing fallout. Results no food for your plants
