Creswell School Garden — SPARK! Creative Learning Grants Project Spotlight

Every fall, SELCO Community Credit Union awards grants up to ,000 (or more) to K-12 educators in communities throughout Oregon. In 2017, we provided 42 educators and 33 different schools with nearly ,000 in supplemental funding for innovative class projects.

Creswell High School in Creswell, Oregon (about 12 miles south of Eugene) used their funding for their school garden, helping students get hands-on experience with the natural world and exposure to career possibilities outside the office. We spoke with Language Arts teacher Liz Babbs after the project was underway about the changes she’s already seen in her students.
