We are finally getting some square foot gardens setup and I was looking for some ways to save some money and build some nice raised beds for the backyard. In this video I go through the process that I used to tear down some pallets and create a couple of 3′ X 6′ raised bed gardens. This is one of the first projects that I have done that was truly 100% free! Please let me know if there are any questions.

I've been following your videos for sometime now and I really enjoy them. You are so talented and thrifty, which is key, right? I have noticed recently that you have added some background music to your videos and I really like it! Who or what is the name of this instrumental piece? Have you ever watched any of the vlogs from "Life Goes North", about a family that packed up and moved to Alaska and how they are adjusting with the weather & ways at their new homestead. Anyway, their music is the same as yours and I love it!
Some pallet wood is toxic: https://www.1001pallets.com/pallet-safety/
I got a couple myself for this. Free……
Not too different from what I did. I cut the 3 to 4" slats and 5.5" slats into 10" pieces. I used 8' long 1x1s and secured the slats at the top. I like the finishing top edge you did. Mine measures 6ft. by 12 feet.
Hi! Did you treat the pallets with any preservative?
I am not sure which video was my first but it was about raised beds from pallet wood. It lit a fire for me. My creative juices have been going for days. I probably have the beginning of a project list. I have always been a wannabe woodworker. What better wood to practice on than free wood. I have planned a garden (and its expansion) I plan to add hugelkultur to the raised bed idea. Then I saw you chicken coop videos. I am no longer sure when I subscribed but I am hooked. Thanks for your leading and ministering to me.
There is a very simple way to take pallet apart, use a long crowbar or a 2×4 if you can to pry out the plank the longues the easiest
hey there! nice video, I'm so doing that. I saw you still have old school ad for the environment grass.. check out clover lawns that are beautiful and low maintenance.. pass the word around 😉
I love it! Cant wait to get started this weekend. Great family project
Great use of old pallets. Loved the way you did the video, very clear and easy to follow instructions.
you can hammer really fast. thx for the video
Thanks for the great video. But, if the outside dimensions are 3' x 6' you will not technically have 18 squares that are 1' x 1'. The outer "squares" will be shortchanged by the width of the boards. The corners will lose area on 2 sides.
I brushed a mixture of 50% motor oil and 50% diesel to water proof and prederve the pallet wood
A
Very cool.
BTW…… I love how you show a scripture at the end of your videos……all glory to God.
Could you build a chicken coop with pallets?
