WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) — A Chicago man faced charges in the Tri-State after local deputies said they caught him in the middle of a sexual assault. The man was locked up in the Warren County jail. Twenty four-year-old Juan Carlos Alvarez-Chaves was charged with one count of rape. Around 3:30 Sunday morning, August 30, a deputy spotted a man calling out a woman’s name in the parking lot of the Mason Inn on Mason Montgomery Road. The man had been in an argument with his girlfriend and she left their room. As deputies were searching they discovered Alvarez-Chavez running from a wooded area where the woman was lying on the ground. Detectives said she did not know her attacker and they do not believe she was doing anything improper. They believe it was a crime of opportunity. Chavez appeared in court Monday, August 31, and a judge set bond at 0,000. Follow us on Twitter @Local12 and LIKE us on Facebook for updates!
