CAUSES Healthy City and People

Hello, I’m Sabine O’Hara, Dean of the University of the District of Columbia’s College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences. The College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences offers academic programs in nutrition, dietetics, nursing, health education, architecture and environmental science. And we serve thousands of residents in every ward of the District of Columbia through our research-based community education and land grant centers in nutrition, diet and health, sustainable development, urban agriculture, architectural research, and Youth Development.

Our CAUSES motto is Healthy Cities, Healthy People. To accomplish this we work to make our academic programs relevant, our land-grant centers accessible and a strong partnership with our city government. Joining me to talk more about a healthy city and healthy people are Harriet Tregoning, Director of the DC Office of Planning and University of the District of Columbia Prof. Kathy Denise Dixon, Associate Professor of Architecture & Community Planning
