What kind of "dirt" did you use in the barrel? I will look forward to updates on the beans.
What do you think of straw bale gardening? Probably still have to bend some, but not bad. I haven't tried either yet.

I love it! What a great idea. I hope it gives you loads of beans and good black rich compost!

I hope this works out! If so, I'll be making many! At least the ones after this will take less time to make. A question; do you need the tube in the center if you already have a good composting system, maybe just add worms to the barrel?

Bev You did a bang up job, I had to cut a hole in one of those to make a rain barrel and I know it is not easy.   I don't know where you got the idea for that project but it is great!

That looks like a great idea!! I am trying a vertical garden this year with vinyl hanging shoe holders on my deck. It's like a hanging salad bar! ; ) So far everything I've planted is doing well.

I love it! Can't wait to get to the point we can start thinking about putting in a garden. Well, we kinda have, friends gifted us with different mints and we now have what we call Mint Mountain…
This barrel is ingenious and will for sure save the back, looks to be a great thing to have if you are in a wheel chair as well!!!
