Do use the pot to rott some compost. The tomato will love it and will be dark green.

For those wondering, the only advantage of this is space. My research has shown that its actually more negative to do this than positive. If you don't have the space, like the author has made very clear, this is the way to go.

Could u be more specific about how you're supporting it? What's it hanging from, where your reinforcing? A picture of the entire plant and set up epulf be helpful. Also, when you first put it in the soda bottle what did you rest it in?
