Hydroponic systems can be categorized as active or passive systems. Active systems usually involve a pump to rapidly supply the water mixed nutrient solution to the roots of the plants. Passive systems, on the other hand, are dependent upon a medium such as wick which takes capillary action in absorbing the nutrient solution and passing it along to the plant roots. CHOP stands for, Constant Height One Pump and it is a popular system for using aquaponics.
This system uses the fish tank overflow to fill the grow beds. This allows you to use one pump for the entire system which makes you even more sustainable and less reliant on electricity.

Cheers for the video content! Forgive me for chiming in, I would love your opinion. Have you heard about – Patlarny Gardening Expert Principle (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a good one of a kind product for learning how to expand your produce with the clever art of aquaponics without the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my good mate called Gray after a lifetime of fighting got cool results with it.

I see you have fishes in the subtank too.
It's SUB tank ..
I hate these bull dikes that think they know everything.
I recommend putting a few bricks under the filter incase something goes wrong and there is a leakage the fish will have some water to breath from
shoudn't there be a solid waste filter before the water goes to the growbeds? And if you had a solid waste filter or swirl filter, could you add an NFT pipe-system before the water goes to the growbed?
