More than 70 percent of bats in the United States are insectivores, which means they gobble bugs. A single brown bat can eat between 600 and 1,000 flying insects like mosquitoes in an hour — about 5,000 in a single night. And they’ll also pick off garden pests like tomato hornworm moths, cucumber beetles and grasshoppers.

Hi I live on a 12 acre horse stable with a large pond. I have only seen two bats around and I want to increase the population of bats immensely because we all get tore up by the bugs. Any info, plans on giant bat houses, landscape improvements or anything you might know would be highly appreciated. Thank you .
Would LOVE to have some in our area! Afterall, we are in Texas. But we are a newish subdivision without a lot of mature trees — just TONS of bugs. And standing water in rainy seasons & nearby ponds. But what other things can we do to attract them and is there any chance that we could attract "too many" if we are successful?
With many thanks!!! Loved it!!! Mary, Adelaide Bat Care
