Is that pea egg plant a solanum torvum, I love cooking those in a Thai green curry, but I have not grown them yet, I do have some seeds though so I might give them a go.
I’ve ordered some Aubergine plug plants due to be delivered in March, so I guess now isn’t too early for sowing
Glad you are not planning on casting any clouts till May is out 🙂 I have never tried to grow Aubergines but they are on my radar for next year. I will watch the progress you make with yours with interest 🙂
The Scots version being "Ne'er cast a clout till May is oot". In this context I think May refers to the Mayflower (Hawthorn) which flowers before the end of May.
I had a mild panic when I saw how advanced your seedlings were, I plan to start next week . How will you make sure the plants will have enough light and not go leggy before they can go outside?
I had a lot of sucess with a variety of eggplan/aubergine called Bonica F1. Was harvesting from August until the beginning of October. Started planting in a heated bed (which I made myself ) in the polytunnel in Feb.
