    Was wondering how many plants your system can sustain, east Ohio here, I have access to bluegill, I also fish lol so that helps a lot, and I have the property capable of making this all work.

    Would mind explaining Stocking Density, Rotational velocity circular tank, dead space, Dia and depth ratio, radial flow, tea cup, effect IImpulse force created by inlet flow effect,. Mixing in Cornell type tanks, and water velocuty through screen

    I'm considering an aquaponics experiment, coming from the side of an aquarium hobbyist. As a result, I've got some questions regarding your fish selection.
    1) When you say that Nile tilapia aren't necessarily your ideal fish, are you saying that because there's another species that you feel would do better? What is your "ideal" fish for the Wyoming area, and what led you to that conclusion?
    2) Are you monitoring and adjusting specific water parameters outside of water quality(relating to ammonia/nitrite) and temperature? Do you pay any attention to pH, KH, etc., and if so, are you tailoring those parameters to the needs of the fish or the plants?
    3) Is the biomass in the aquarium somehow related to the size of the plant load you're trying to feed, or are you simply concerned with achieving proper water volume?

    Basically, I'm considering setting up a small aquaponics system(maybe 4-12 of those 5' ZipGrow towers) and tapping it off of an aquarium. I'd like to run it for a year or so to see how strong an interest I retain in it and how well it produces before I commit to anything too serious, but I'm still figuring out the starting point.

    Hello,

    sorry for this question;

    are some fish eatable?
    I mean, can I consume also the fishes? or they propose is just giving nutrients to the aquaponics system?

    Many thanks in advance! a

    I guess that anyone who ever tried building his or her project following diy guidelines, at least one time, had to withstand the frustrating time when the outcome always was much worse than expectation.

    Thank you for all videos! They are so helpful!
    I'm working through to design a system and I still have same doubts:
    Which ratio should I use between pound of fish and number of towers? Or should I worry about full volume of system (0,5 gallon/tower and 1 pound each 9 gallon)?
