Name: Khoka Mia and Sufia Khatun Nijmawana, Gazipur The Mia /Khatuun household are participants in the four month long “Digits to All” pilot project funded by Amadeyr Cloud Limited. The focus of the pilot is to disseminate information using technology. Using a simple touch screen tablet, households can learn about: health issues; education; agriculture (also poultry/ fish/cattle farming); and general information such as government services/their rights/ and small enterprise development. The majority of the information on the tablet is in audio/visual form so that semi literate and illiterate persons can easily understand the content. Khoka and Sufia (vegetable gardeners), decided after viewing an instructional video on vertical gardening to try their hand at growing squash and cucumbers. They found the information on the tablet beneficial and sought help from their son when they needed help.
