AeroGarden Review | Testing Cool Kitchen Gadgets
Here’s my review of the Miracle-Gro AeroGarden. About the AeroGarden: Imagine fresh herbs and vegetables grown in your home, year-round. With the Miracle-Gro AeroGarden Harvest Elite, you can grow fresh herbs, vegetables, salad greens, flowers and more! This smart countertop garden uses water and patented nutrients to naturally grow plants… no herbicides, no pesticides, non-GMO. It’s natural goodness right at your fingertips. And with a beautiful, stainless steel finish, it will look great on your countertop. AeroGardens are the world’s leading indoor gardening systems. You can grow up to 6 plants in this garden and they’ll love the 20 watts of high performance, energy-efficient LED lighting. The LED lights are tuned to the specific spectrum that allows plants to maximize photosynthesis, resulting in rapid, natural growth and abundant harvests.
The LED lights concentrate daylight white LEDs for fast growth, blue LEDs for bigger yields, and red LEDs for more flowers and fruit. With ideal lighting and optimally balanced levels of water and nutrients, plants grow up to 5 times faster than when grown in soil.
The Harvest Elite’s easy-to-use LCD control panel utilizes simple prompts to guide you from setup to harvest. It also creates optimal conditions for your plants by automatically turning the lights on and off and reminding you when to add water and nutrients. The AeroGarden Harvest Elite sets up in minutes without tools. Just insert the Seed Pods in your garden, add water and nutrients, and then watch it grow! Everything you need to start growing is included.

I have grown in the old system with 8 tomato plants X 3 on a rack running day in day out.. never had a bug problem.
2 bags of lettuce for $1.99 at my local Tom Thumb and 1 of them I never ate. lol. I buy a multi-planter for my front porch and grow herbs on it. And that bight ass bulb probably UV and not so good for your eyes. Get a planter for outside that does like 6 herbs and put it under indirect suntlight on a table on your front porch. Dont over water it and you'll have fresh herbs all year.
I have three Aerogardens now. The harvest , the harvest classic and the harvest elite slim. With all the recalls on lettuce and spinach I wanted control over my food supply. I have heirloom cherry tomatoes growing in one. Lettuce and herbs growing in the other two. I have harvested many salads and lettuces for sandwiches. Made a fantastic pesto with the basil and am looking forward to growing more expensive hard to find herbs. Fresh is always best.
cool
We got 4 cuttings off ours in 82 days. 1st cutting yielded enough for one salad, but the last few cuttings were enough for 3-4 salads per cutting. You may have cut too close to the base on the one that didn't grow back.
Just made me want one
I have one for almost a year….food all year around
Meh just wait few years. Be for sale in garage sales across america for 1.50 lol
We just got a few off a pretty steep Kohl's sale. I mainly want it for herbs and fully-ripened (red) poblanos since I can only find them at farmers markets like two weeks out of the entire year. Lettuce might not be the best one to go with unless you've got a couple units and are serving salads regularly.
thank you reviewing this so comprehensively from start to finish!
you're awesome, ty lol
Came from the chat to show you love rang your bell
I just bought this at Bed, Bath & Beyons for $28, lol.
How long do the lights stay on?
Yep. I can see this being more useful if someone is really into using fresh herbs and whatnot in their cooking or doing fresh made teas. If you had 2, you could definitely use 1 for herbs and the other for either tomatoes or peppers since they all generally reproduce fairly quickly.
