Do You Want To Know What Factory Farming Is? - Part 1

You can stay in wonderland or you can see just how deep the rabbit hole goes?

Taking the incredible popularity of the 1999 worldwide smash hit cult film ‘The Matrix’; This cleverly designed and very well thought out video uses the theme of the movie to educate people about industrialized commercial factory farming; and how the practice of it, is not only cruel and horrific to the animals who are the reason for it, but also to the environment as well.

It is the very first video in a series of videos about this topic using the matrix premise.

Love the new look took me a while to realize it was you but recognized the voice. Farming is the future don't give up. Thomas Jefferson advocated, to get into the least foreign entanglements possible. Industrialization had its place. But subservient to a farm. And every man should own land. So that his labor remained on his land 1799.

I have found that my local markets are extremely expensive to become a vendor…its like being shaken down before I even sell a single item? All the advertisements, signage, banners, tents, fees, and time becomes impossible to recoup for a small producer. Frankly, most farmers markets are for high volume sellers.

Great talk – starting a JS marathon today… 🙂 Very interested in getting heavily involved in a few things you're heavily involved in.

You have a lot of good advice here. The signage is also a good investment. It really is a deterent when nothing is marked even if it's layed out in order.

I haven't read down to far however I haven't found anything about food handling licenses? do you have to get any of that or does it depend on where you are selling?

Great video! Thank you for sharing your expert advise! I'll be using your tips as I open my own booth at our local market this spring!

Thanks friend. We all know WHAT we like, but don't know WHY we like it. Your video was an excellent mirror exercise, useful in many other areas of life. My first year "marketing" was a super success and quite gratifying. I started by advertising on Yard Sale websites to "Be On The Lookout….what was coming in a month!" I plan on adding very simple (and simply packaged) home made soap and hand sewn market bags to my heirloom, non gmo, organic tomatoes, okra, peppers, etc. Last year was additionally successful in that I was able to expose myself as a seasoned gardener and trusted source for info on how to care for the plants I was selling. The Amish sell in our community and are a super resource. Utilize what's around you,and don't be a snob! You can always learn more!

It is sad that you are correct my friend. Don't fight the man, embrace him. I'd wear ripped up jean shorts, boots and a flannel T shirt every day if I could. I make allot more money not.

Growing a garden is actually expensive and it costs less to buy from a store/market. And thank you for speaking out against the stigma regading farmers etc….

  • Rob Richards

Awesome! I'm about to start my first tour in a market. I'm kind of petrified actually. I've gone broke trying to grow natural food, lived in a tent and everything for this. Loved this. Could use more advice too

Brilliant film! It explains the reality of meat, egg and dairy farming in an engaging way without showing graphically what goes on, great for educating the young 'uns.

I wish you all knew about agriculture and how many regulations need to be passed in order to have cooperate farms. This is a blindfold PETA is trying to cover your eyes with. Get the real facts

Organic or not, using living beings as property is wrong. The root of the problem is our indoctrinated belief that it's okay for humans to use other animals as property. Just as racism (the idea that one race is superior to another) once allowed people to have slaves, speciesism (the idea that one species is superior to another) allows people to have stakes, burgers, and bacon. All forms of animal exploitation are rooted in the same ignorance that slavery was. Humans might be more intelligent, but that doesn't give us the right to destroy the life of less intelligent beings. If that were the case, Einstein would have had the right to massacre most of humanity.

Unfortunately these animals are raised on GMO corn and other grain. Plus the pesticides used to grow these crops also ends up in the meat, primarily in the fatty portions of the animal. We all need vegetables, fruit so piling on animal products laden with pesticide residue and GMO organisms doesnt make a person any healthier.

  • WowplayerMe

I don't fucking care if the animals are happy or not, as long as I get my bacon, hamburgers, steak, eggs, and, turkey I'm happy and that's all that matters to me.

  • Alexander of Blake

I think it's ok to eat meat, but I believe that animals should be in free-range farms and should be fed grass. Factory farming is cruel, and it lowers both the quality of the meat and increases the chance of parasites or disease.
