A look at some of my indoor Grow Lights and which I prefer.
Be they T5 tubes or CFL or even LED they will all grow plants well but which are best suited to your needs.
Personally I prefer the T5 lights as they are cooler than some of the CFL ones and can be placed closer to the plants without any risk of scorching.
If you only have a small space to cover then a larger CFL lamp would suffice, or even a smaller T5 tube light.
But even the tiny CFL bulbs and small LED panels are beneficial above your plants as they will increase the light levels and make them grow better.
Happy Gardening.

If you're looking for an upgrade, you need to try Transcend Lighting's LED T5 (30 watts). Equivalent PAR output vs a 54 watt fluorescent and will work in your existing fluorescent T5 fixtures. With a simple bulb swap you'll consume 45% less energy and emit 45% less heat. They're also made in the US and come with a 5 year warranty. Of course, they cost more up front but the energy savings alone pays you back in 18 months

Hi Dan! I am growing tropical fruit trees by the window in a area 6' by 10' in my house. The sizes of the trees vary from 2' to 6'. What would be the best lighting system for such a set up? I currently use 2 of the 200 watt COB led lights. But I am not sure if they are doing well.. The lights don't contain UV and IR. Are T5 tubes better than Leds? Please help! Thank you.

I'm using led light for the first time. I bought it because I didn't have light on one half of the balcony. In a week I started to see the plants different But I didn't know what. In 2 weeks they were getting beautiful. Now I put it from 5:30 pm to 11:00 pm and planning to buy another one to change the old light.

This was extremely interesting especially the Megaleds. I presume that they could be powered by solar – I don't have power to the greenhouse which is across a public track.

Thank you. I am getting lots of ideas.

Hi Dan, I've just brought similar led but the square versions, identical looking transformer, but mine has two small soldered wires coming out of it for the input power, how did you wire yours, did you add twin core cable to those and then a 3-pin plug?
    Cheers

Onions are looking great dan. Very healthy. Are you spraying them with anything to prevent thrips ? Ever had a problem with them ? Cheers Lee.

Glad to see you still have the greenhouse Dan and I still have some concerned about the flooding on your plot, hows it doing? Good informative video. Cheers Mike B

It is unfortunate that more than half of the informative videos about grow lights are related to the cannabis plant. Some of us just want to grow garden plants. 😛 Thanks for the video showing the types of lights you use, always good to know what seems to work best for everyone.
