Basically, instead of growing in soil, hydroponic plants are grown in vessels filled with nutrient rich water.     The issue with hydroponics is that you will need to shop for "plant food" or nutrients and supplements which can be more costly.

    I've watch about 5 "what is hydroponics" video so far and I like this one the best. It helped me better understand what hydroponics is.
