An inexpensive and easy-to-build alternative to ZipGrow towers for those who cannot afford ZipGrow towers. If you can afford theirs, by all means, buy them. However, in my case, for a 5-foot piece of vinyl fence post sleeve stuffed with plastic media made from down-cycled drinking water bottles was simply cost prohibitive. for a 3-foot model wasn’t any better, especially since I could build a 42-inch 100% functional equivalent for about .50 and have something that’s much easier to use and worked better under grow lights. Good tips. I'll probably go this route too. I agree their stuff is a bit expensive.

I just saw the original ZipGrow towers setup. They can't patent growing vertically. Which is what they're trying to do.

When you start with 1 patent it will grow to 2. Is that not what Monsantos core of their business/marketing strategy? We won't save the planet with patents! Open-source sustainable food production that is locally produced is the only way we can cure the planet. Zero corporate monopolies has to be our future and we should treat large corporations as crimes against life and we should vigilantly prosecute company's that grow to large!

You are awesome, thank you. You did the right thing. The world is plentiful and you gave people options. Now I can use this idea in small villages in West Africa and possibly Saudi. God bless you.

To be honest i seen the zip tower before coming here, but it was obvious to me whilst first seeing it was they are so easy to copy and diy yourself. Don't listen to the douche bag.

Thanks Larry. I first looked at the Zipgrow as they are used in those container farms. I thought after looking at them that it was a lot of marketing hype or smoke and mirrors. Don't get me wrong, I think someone should be able to make a buck, but what Nate has done seems to have taken years of University knowledge from the free labor of paying students and then thought wow, I can take this idea from the University free of charge and make a killing off of it. Bread and butter, more like Filet Mignon and escargot.
Thanks for spreading the idea. This is what makes the internet and YouTube especially great.

    Dear Larry,
Thanks for your inspiring channel. And your kindness of knowledge sharing.

All this patent things is about domination and put morale higher ground for the brand so people religiously hipnotized and become passive costumers. Btw, their matrix media hv best BSA plus void ratio, is it just claim or it is what it is? is it significant for the system/unit or a redundant one? because all I'm thinkin with that kind of BSA plus void ratio can give me option for high density fish and heavy feeding. Is there any alternative for matrix media since matala hv much lower spec (BSA) than matrix media? What do you say about this Larry? Warm Regard & Thanks.
