Irresponsible and cowardly to skip the impact of slave labor as the extreme gain in wealth for this crop. This is the glossed-over version for folks not willing to tell the real "story of cotton" now go look up other sites that tell you the whole story.

WTF… I don't know how I got on the subject of cotton, but after watching this I did some research. The US is the 3rd largest producer of cotton in the world, yet roughly 2/3rds of all US cotton is shipped off to foreign countries, primarily China and Mexico. They obviously then turn around and sell the stuff right back to us, because were stupid, but seriously is it really that much cheaper to manufacture clothes in China over the US. I honestly don't even believe that. Or is it that their just that they've run all of our textile industries out of business. Makes you wonder right?

Great Video, I am extremely interested in finding out if the new cotton harvesting machine technology, such as cotton strippers, has eliminated the need to go over a given field twice to yield premium verses low grade cotton.

Since there is a big push to move much of the world's agricultural production to Africa I am very interested in the new generation of clearly highly productive and immensely profitable cotton harvesting machine technology.

no mention of the cotton industry being a crucial part of the business of slavery in America… why, surely this is pertinent information when discussing the story of cotton…

Let me see if I understand this. We Americans are using genetically modified seeds to grow cotton, pouring chemicals and fertilizer on the plant and then harvesting it. Then the seed gets crushed and put into food & feeds the animals we eat. The lint then gets made into clothes and fabric we are touching every day? Can anyone guess why there is so many health problems in this country?
