Got the idea from windowfarms.org , and decided to take the cheapo route. This is the first prototype, without plants atm, and so far the material cost has been: pipes: 4$ wood plates: found it at my parents pots: 2$ (50cents a piece) paint: approx 10bucks, but ive got loads left over, probably for like 50-60 pots 😀 compressor: 8$ bucket: gift with some cleaning stuff ceramic pebbles: 9$ flexible pipes/tubes, and misc attachments: 7$ That’s a total of 40$ so far 🙂 a couple of hours of sawing drilling cutting and experimenting problems & plans for version 2.0: 1: need bigger plates, because the pots don’t fit between the pipes, only when turned 90°, also for stability issues (at it’s current state it is pretty easily turned over) 2: tighter holes for the support pipes, so they won’t wiggle as much 3: I’ve gotta check the pipes before I buy them, because the ones in this one have a pretty noticable bend in them… maybe even consider another material (like aluminium) but this would depend on the price 4: add another level to the whole shebang 5: probably will rework the airlift into a geyser-airlift hybrid pump, because at the moment, when the water column inside the tube reaches a certain point, the pressure levels out and bubbles back out the water intake. 6: will probably replace the wood plates with some nice white plastic Video Rating: / 5 Related PostsPopular Vertical farming & Hydroponics videosPopular Videos – Vertical farming & HydroponicsPopular Videos – Vertical farming & HydroponicsPopular Vertical farming & Hydroponics videosPopular Videos – Vertical farming & HydroponicsPopular Videos – Vertical farming & Hydroponics
