Love the video btw. but lemme ask you something. what kind of shit phone did you have that only lets you record for a minute. #dailyroast But anyways, thanks for the info and ill up-vote because this will help me pass my quiz tomorrow for greenhouse managment

Why use 1/4 X 2 supply lines? No offense to you, but I see time and time again blockage issues. I'm thinking about using one 1/2 inch supply line. I'm just trying to build a better mouse trap, no disrespect.
Nice vid. I am starting some peppers now, Jan 7, to put outside in mid may. Thinking about NFT . Do these transplant well to soil. With such a good root structure I think I answered my question.
That's thin-walled PVC is made for potable water, i.e., it's not food grade AFAIK. Won't that risk leaching chemicals into your water supply? Particularly being outside in the sun?
controlling the water height would be much easier by putting another ball valve on the return line that way you can slow th ereturn back thus raising the water level, or lower it with the ball valve
+FarmingFractals Hi, could use some basic information: Where to buy supplies? Type of tube used/size/sch./lengths? (FDA approved – nontoxic) Diameters and centers of holes? Tubing and sizes? Thanks in advance.
no air stone is needed in a nft system…the flowing and draining action of the water puts plenty of oxygen in the water..water temp should be around 70 F.
Just a suggestion…try a Kratky setup. That is what I use for my greens. Basically, it is set and forget. No circulator pump, air pump is not mandatory, no muss, no fuss. I have four twenty-gallon tubs and replant on a 3-4 week rotation between individual tubs. Each tub holds 16 plants. One tub is always supplying greens. I am a single-person household and I can't eat all the greens produced! MHPGARDENER shows you the process. Regards.
questions about the nutrients, how do you know how much N, P , K and other nutrients to put in the system throughout the development of the lettuce per se.
The splashing of the pump would provide plenty of aeration. No need for airstones and air pump.

Do you ever have a problem with fruit flies?
