I wanted to show you my new Grow Room! I’ve been working on this for the last couple of days and I thought I’d share it with you. I’m not suggesting that I’m building this grow room properly, or that I’m doing it the best way possible, I’m only showing you how I’m building it.

Diamond Foil – http://goo.gl/vbFllZ
I believe that there are many different light fixture configurations that would work however, I didn’t see anything else that was reasonably affordable for a small scale setup. I could have purchased these materials from somewhere like Amazon.com but I chose to take my Canadian earned money and support out local companies.
If this Grow Room Video is helpful in any way, please do share it with others and give it a thumbs up so we can all work together to change the world.
God Bless,
Wayne

You offer some Great Ideas !! … It would probably a great idea to change out that outlet … to a GFI or GFCI outlet. That way if you develop a mild short with all the moisture then you won't get shocked. the cost to change it out is less than $20. With a sink that close and foil all around and metal objects and 115v power … you do have an above average chance to be shocked. Just an suggestion :)
With the in closed space you need a fan pulling air through it
nice set up , but the pieces of boxes may attract unwanted insects like mites.
I am no expert but everything I have read points to germinating seeds without light.
Once they get green leaves it makes sense but seeds do not need light to grow. Just an FYI
+Wayne Meador I don't think you want the mylar on the table or below the plants. You only want light from the sides & top. The way plants work is they grow towards light because of the way their cells react to the direction the light is coming from. The cells on the underside of leaves are not supposed to get light. Not sure if I'm explaining that well but I think you'll get what I mean.
Looks really nice. The one thing you may want to add would be a small fan for air circulation.
Looks good, Wayne! FYI Lowes has a 4 ft, four bulb t-8 fixture Model #: GU9804-T8-BKSS for $49.98, which is what I currently use. Just thought I'd throw that in there ; ). Nice channel, by the way! I just subbed you.
nice grow room, thankyou for getting back to me on the light. question for ya. do you use see heat matts? if so any advice for which ones are better. The reason i ask is that i want to get a jump start on my plants next month and it is typically still cold here in upstate ny. i dont want to invest the resources i have into junk. thanks Wayne
I think so too +misspairo, thank you! :)
very cool.
On the lighter side of things, I have raided a few houses where the people would have killed for a set up like this… HAHA..
Great job on your new grow room wayne- im jealous. May I suggest a GFCI outlet if you have any concerns with moisture or water mixing with your electrical connections. Cheap insurance they run about $15.
that light will be plenty without any foil, but nice to see it!, will you add a fan to keep the plants growing low and strong?
Two thumbs up!
Two thumbs up!
Looks GREAT!
Looks great! You may want to throw in a small fan when the front is closed up to get a little extra aiflow. Cant wait to see how it works!
Bet it felt great to get this set up and know that you'll be growing something before long. Looks like a great set up, you were very thorough with covering walls with the reflective material and making sure that the water drip issue is taken care of!
cool
