The regional scale is an essential scale to explore in order to understand the issues and opportunities for rebuilding after Storm Sandy. In Fall 2013, the Landscape Planning / Regional Design Studio focused on Monmouth County, developing a range of alternatives to address sea level rise, storm predictions, and development. Students studied environmental, socio-cultural, economic, political, and infrastructural systems and the interrelation of these systems with each other. Based on study and analysis of individual towns, the county, and the larger region impacted by Sandy, and local and regional priorities as expressed through existing plans and policies developed in the wake of Sandy, students then developed goals to guide a design proposal and criteria for evaluation of its success Rutgers Landscape Architecture Intermediate Design Studio (11:550:331) Instructors: Pippa Brashear and David Smith Students: Juniors Area of study: Monmouth County Video Rating: / 5 This short video is a celebration of the one year part time Diploma in Garden Design at KLC School of Design, whos garden design studios are located at Hampton Court Palace. The film shows course location at Hampton Court, and the studio located in one of the apartments in the Palace. Students are seen in early rendering (watercolour) workshops and working “in the field” on their projects. KLC provides courses in interior design and garden design with studios at Chelsea Harbour, London (interior design courses) and at Hampton Court Palace (garden design courses). There are various methods of study to suit different lifestyles (full time, part time, blended learning and open learning), with durations from one day to one year (full time), or two years (blended learning).
