GREAT JOB ON THE GRAPHICS AND PICS
I'm loving this series, even as an adult, mostly cuz it brings back nostalgia of a kid watching science shows on TV. I just enjoy efforts to get kids to be more interested in science.
I teach English in South Korea and occasionally science, too. My high level 2nd grade students really love these videos. Thanks a bunch.
This channel is great, it has an awesome opportunity for teaching.
One thing though, Jessi and SciShow Kids, please slow down. If you are worried about holding kids attention spans, your content alone can do it, without going so fast (The blobfish episode is a good pace – and it's only slightly slower). All the other nerdfighter channels don't go quite this fast, and their primary audience isn't children.
Bladderworts?? Crazy. I've never heard of those. Good episode and animations.
This is great
Just to be clear, the plants still go through photosynthesis and still take nutrients from bugs? Or just eat bugs?
I totally forgot it was supposed to be for little kids halfway through, this was really interesting! I only knew a few of these.
Awesome!! my 4 year old some loved the graphics, he did ask "daddy why does that girl talk so fast?" may want to slow down and talk a bit slower if he is in the demographic you are hoping to reach 🙂 thanks for the great info!
Why the suggestive fast food themes? I've noticed this with a lot of CrashCourse and SciShow Kids episodes, and it's bugging me a lot more than it should.
The way I perceive these interjections and comments about hamburgers, chicken nuggets or chips ('french fries' for you across the pond) is either telling everyone that children only consume fast food, or indeed should do so. Remember, you're not showing these to adults as a target group, but children, who are prone to give in to suggestive comments, be they ever so subtle. It might just induce a sudden craving for the stuff, or rather confirm that their current diet is all right (even though, in this case, you talked about dietary variety and vegetables a great deal, which is cool).
Just my couple of cents.
My 4 year old absolutely loves your videos! She's loved sci show for a while now but was really excited when sci show kids came out! She hasn't missed a single one and watches them over and over! If you're looking for suggestions for future videos, my daughter is really into anatomy and would love to see some on here :)
My nephew was interested in science and always asked me questions about planets and science. Once I introduced him to this show he fell in love. He's only 6 years old and he's learning so much from your videos. Thank you!
I'm 40 and I didn't know about bladderworts
I'm really digging Sci Show Kids! Hopefully it'll still be around when I eventually have kids, so I can show it to them, but, until then, I'll enjoy it myself. A college student watching a science show meant for children? No shame. 😉
Keep up the good work Jessi! :D
this is not true. you can grow carrots 3-5 weeks before the last frost

Thanks this helped me out a lot
