We show you a quick method to measure your coco coir’s EC to make sure that you are using the purest product available. We compare Mother Earth with Ugro using reverse osmosis water. It’s worth pointing out that the best coco coir doesn’t always have the lowest EC—that’s because some manufacturers use buffering agents to aid with nutrient uptake—but this test gives you an initial “snapshot” of your coco growth media so you have some idea of what you’re dealing with.

not all coconuts live by the sea
Kipkay style
happy to hear it bro! I'm leaving tomorrow for holiday, back in 2 weeks. I'll be looking forward to the video flow soon
when's the next video bro?
coco.. one of the best mediums I think. Renewable, cheap and awesome!
this guys funny at commentary….. you sure all your growing is vegetables lol
Lol! I get 1500ppm from raw coco coir from Shrilanka=))
I go through about 100 bags of Mother Earth per month. Sometimes its 10ppm, sometimes its all the way up to 80.
I also use a 2-1 ratio when doing my slurry tests.
I run straight Coco in all of our plants and flush with just 100ppm cal mag 1x week. NO issues. We also don't water to runoff when feeding. 2yrs with this method and 2000 plants at all times always seem happy.
As for Coco buffers. I hit my tables with SM90 at 2ml gal between harvest and 5ml gal of enzymes, 400ppm cal mag.
you need COGr Buffer Agent to buffer the coco medium whit a ec level up to 1.5 its the best
pure coco its a no no
I use mendo mix and it has amendments like sea bird guano and all kinds of other things added to it and when ever I test my run off I get a reading of something crazy like 1000 ppm using clean water usually when I first start using the stuff. Is this high ppm possibly due to the amendments you think?
lol the commentary
That is some serious clean water right there compared to ours well yout would think it is see water ….. which it is
