Hydroponics growing system: How to build a homemade DIY Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system. There are many forms of hydroponics growing systems out there. This video will show you step by step how to build a Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system. Hydroponics makes indoor gardening really easy. This is the first Hydroponics system that I built. the parts are easy and cheap to find. This is a DIY DWC growing system, Also known as Deep Water Culture. If you are looking for step by step video instruction on how to build a hydroponics growing system then you have found it. Deep Water Culture or DWC is a system where the roots are suspended in a nutrient solution. This method uses a air stone to oxygenate the nutrient solution and keep the plants from drowning. Once the nutrient solution is sufficiently oxygenated, the plant roots can remain submerged indefinitely. The growing plants have their roots suspended in a deep water growth chamber receive excellent aeration and a moist environment. This is where the name Deep Water Culture or DWC comes from. Once the plants begin to flower, the level of the nutrient solution is gradually reduced. This will expose the roots to even more oxygen. The deep water culture method will lead to rapid growth because, the plants roots can absorb large amounts of oxygen and nutrients at the sametime. Another distinct advantage of Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system over other hydroponics growing systems is the cost. All you need to get started is: Plastic tote Net pots .50 each Hydroton .00 Air pump and stone Nutrient Solution but will last you 4 to 6 months Total for this system including all the Nutrient Solution This makes a Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system […]

You should use smaller holes for your net pots when you plants start to grow they will get heavy and the hole plant with the pot will go I the water, also yo should use a black bin or bucket, light will go in and then you get alge, last to many pots will be over crowded when plants start to grow the plants start to battle for dominance at the root, the stronger plants start to choke the weaker plants.?

Just a note to anyone who is going to try this, dont put 8 baskets in that small amount of space, all of your roots are going to tangle and significantly lessen your yield, "someone" has the same size reservoir with only 2 plants and is expected to get at least 3 zips off each plant, this guy will probably get like 3/4 of a zip off each plant and need way more lighting than he should!?

Just thought I should point out that you are using "Net Pots" not "Netti Pots"… Netti Pots are for cleaning your sinuses… Something completely unrelated ;-)?

    Thanks for the video.
The downside of hydroponics is you need to purchase "plant food" or nutrients and supplements which can be pricey. Aquaponics brings together the most effective elements of Hydroponics And Aquaculture which means lower cost and enhance work productivity

how long do i leave the pump on during dwc hydroponics? i was experimenting with marigold flowers and got positive results. I had it running 12 hours on, when lights were on. and then at night, for 12 hours i wouldn't run it when the lights were off. i was using a regular aquarium air pump and it seemed to work really well.

cover it up so it doesnt allow light. light will cause algea. just wrap duct tape all around it to block out the light. you are good then
