Sched. 40, CPCV & Copper & their glues are all used in households to convey drinking water, they are food grade. Black pipe, a form of pvc is used for conveying sewage ONLY! For the last 40 yrs most townships have installed/repaired city water lines with large scale PVC….You probable have had more drinking water than you know, brought to you courtesy of dreaded PVC!

I'd worry more about the fluoride in your city water rather than the pvc … :O)

PVC pipe is used for drainage not drinking water, there may be an issue with the glue?

You are a genius and great insight on the pvc glue! I will be making a four row system with four net pot sites, using it to grow medical herbs, again thank you!!!

Looks good. Another dry fit option that I've had success with is to wrap Teflon tape around the edge of the pipe. 2 or 3 overlapped wraps about an inch or so wide. Cap fits snug and no leaks. I've got 2 four foot chicken waters set up that way. Only leaks are from the nipples.
