So, it’s a done deal now. Yes, you can grow potatoes hydroponically. In this episode, I take two buckets of potatoes that had died back and revealed the contents for all of you. Check out how it turned out!
My name is Brent and I live in central Arkansas. Love to garden and dabble in hydroponics–Drip Systems, Deep Water Culture Systems, Self Watering Containers, & modified Rain Gutter Grow Systems in the greenhouse. A big part of it is experimentation. I would love to hear from you. Join the conversation and share who you are here with me!

Great video. I have the invisible potato. lol I put them in the canister, and the plant that grow, it did a little one and it died . I waited 3 month and dig it out and the potato looked brand new, as if I just planted there. I put it back thinking maybe it was to dry. Still don't see anything. So I'm planning to take it out.. Never seen a potato do that. lol
You have scab on the Russets, Brent. Lower the pH. Outside it's done with sulfur or peat moss. I mean get it acidic as heck and they can't get scab. But with those yields, I dunno if you can argue with success!
great vidro from australia , go and get a beer mate.
I'm confused. The title mentions hydroponic potatoes yet as you dumped the bucket it appeared they had been grown in soil. Was that coconut coir that just looked like soil? Thank you.
Great job Brent!
oo ok for good stuff
Nice per bucket average, I would say. Nice looking potatoes too.
looks good! BUT! How are they hydroponic potatoes they were grown in the dirt?
Surprise surprise! Nice haul out of those two buckets. I might have to give it a go next year .
Thanks for sharing,
Paul
Or just a fresh russet that has not shrunk yet.
Maby growth slowed patato was going dorment then started to grow again.Kinda like a craked tomato when fertalized late.
Wow! Nice job, Brent! I would guess that the blemishes would be due to lack of media contact with the root? Just a guess, based on my carrot growing experiment ; )
Hello Brent It's always worth a visit to your place just to see some of the contraptions you've constructed. Growing in those elevated temperatures you must have a hose connected to the nearest lake. I hope you've swung those buckets back into action with a second crop. HGV
That is fantastic! Great looking results, for sure.
I've been waiting on this one. Nice job! That's with the MB nutrients?
:O)
Cool!
Dino-taters…nice find! ; ]
Not bad for 2 "dead" buckets. I watched a video last night and found it very enlightening. Thought you may enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9s4feiZqLo
WOW that was amazing haul ya got from those two buckets! Great job done Brother!! On a side note your GH is 102 degrees mine was 128 yesterday. Should I be worried about my cukes and maters in there? Water temp in res running 85 degrees. I been putting two 2 gal blocks of ice in it when I get home from work to help cool it down to 75 degrees for its last two runs of the day. Thank you for input!
