The disadvantage of hydroponics is you must pay for "plant food" or nutrients and supplements that can be expensive.

Hydroponics is an effective system but it have some disadvantage, you will need to buy some "plant food", nutrition and supplements that can be high-priced. Before making any hydroponics system, you have to look at the advantage of aquaponics system, which could automate 95% of work.

I would say that they will both thrive at the same photosynthetic period. I have heard though that the more stress a pepper undergoes, the hotter it will be. Haven't tried it, but maybe the more light and less water it gets, the hotter

I love Habaneros but they can be quite warm.  Do peppers take more light than say ' tomatoes?
