My eggplant is really starting to take off and I’m seeing very nice small violet flowers on them so far, but I”m scratching my head as to actually pollinate them as I’ve never grown them before 🙂 so this is a first. They are one of the more beautiful plants I have ever grown with their soft fuzzy leaves and thorny flower pods. yep thorny flower pods gut on shoved under my nail the other day 🙂

I simply love listening to you discuss greenhouse growing while I'm cooking.

Now…I don't drink beer(sorry about that)..but I GUARANTEE that the gin is flowing while you chat.

Tonight I made roasted eggplant and zucchini with garlic and tomato sauce (yeah yeah ragout) while listening to how to grow eggplant.

    circle of life….circle of life…

    ;)

Okay…if I'm ever in a bad mood or I'm having a bad day I'm going to watch this man's video's…two minutes in and I'm laughing and happy. "Meanshoes"…nothing mean about you, friend.

I really have no idea and maybe I'll add up all the wattages and figure it out nut it's not much. Our bill is about $100 a month for all electricity. I'm always doing something or experimenting with something so it is what it is 🙂

You are very kind love thank you. it's sure a kick in the pants but I'll just keep putting on foot in front of the other eh 🙂 hope all is well on your end.

🙂 stew pi tsa I'll definitely look for it. Maybe my wife Lenka will remember it from when she was little. She was from a very small village where most everyone grew their own food. Actually still do 🙂 Thanks my friend!

No worries. Have you ever grown a tomato called Stupice (stew pii sa)? Knowing of your Czech heritage I think this super early variety maybe of interest to you. It was bred by the Research and Plant Breeding Institute of Vegetables at Olomouc, Czechoslovakia in the 1950s.

I'm glad you are enjoying the videos 🙂 And Thank you for the eggplant advice! I know nothing about them and was hoping someone would clue me in 🙂 I wondered a time or two if they may be like tomatoes but wasn't sure and left them alone. I'm sitting out there now so I'll remove them now 🙂 I like the idea of limiting them to four leaders. mine suffered in the recent heat and had I known to thin them out like that they may have come through much better 🙂 Thank you for the awesome advice. Brock

I am just over halfway watching all of your posted videos, Brock, and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Thank-you every so much for taking the time to share your experience.
Eggplants- You may want to consider suckering them like a tomato plant. You will notice that a sucker grows out between the leaf axis and the stem. I grow my Japanese ones with four main leaders due to space limitations in my greenhouse. This will cut down on disease pressure that can take out your tomatoes and peppers, too.

Thank you for the kind words bro 🙂 I run my tomatoes anywhere between 1200 and 1400 ppm and they seem to love it. After speaking with other folks who use Bobby's formula by weight and the same fertilizer winds up at 900 ppm. I've noticed the nutrients I use come out at 900 if I use the same measurements as Bobby also. Thank you for the comment Randy 🙂 enjoy you day!

Your videos are entertaining and well done sir…I do have a question though…what is your EC/PPM of your tomatoes? I run mine around 1350 PPM and they seem to be doing well. Bobby down south shows how he mixes the nutes but never tells his PPM ratio in his system.. Keep up the good work my friend!

I love to grow eggplant as well & it's a bit of a favourite here.. Your spot on the pollinating too… I give ours a "tickle" as I pass them as I wander the patch everyday..

    Stay healthy Sir :)
