This video shows how we have turned our small back yard in to a large food producing space by using trellises. We grow cucumbers, pole beans, cantaloupe, and any type of vegetable that vines. The height of the trellis is eight feet and it is spaced along the center of an eight by four foot box. I hope you get inspired to try this in your yard.

If you put squash, melons, and cucumbers in close vicinity to each other they will cross pollinate and you end up with some really weird tasting vegetables. So if you want you different varieties of squash or mellows or cucumbers to taste like they are suppose to never put them on the same trellis and it is best to space them opposite sides of the garden. One year we ended up with cucumbers that looked and tasted like a cantaloupe/cucumber on the inside with huge seeds.
are you mixing all calculus , squash , and cucumber on 1 trellis ? , are they grow and get along very well ? im thinking about to grow them together like that , love your video !
what size is the lumber you used on the trellises?
Very nice. I've always liked growing vining crops.
