How to build an aeroponic cloner
Video Rating: / 5
An Amish man built an aeroponic greenhouse at a Lancaster retirement community and now, food is growing “out of thin air.” Aeroponics is the process of growing plants in an air or mist environment without the use of soil or an aggregate medium. what is the strength of the pump? able gph
I'm finding that the threading accepted on the pump is not 1/2 inch. What pump did you use?
thanks i juat made one today & i cant wait to try it out
I'm pretty sure the artist is Teen Daze but I cannot remember song name lol
Pvc parts cost $30 at home depot. The water pump $15, sprayers $10, neoprene collars $15. Gas spent $5-10 dollars. I use to build grow rooms and no one can build on a budget like I can.
I am sorry for not replying back. The sprayers have to be adjusted so the spray inwards. So if you are having leaks, this is most likely the issue. Run the cloner without lid. You will get wet and make a mess. But these adjustments are crucial to avoid leaks. If its too much trouble you can use another plastic container to catch the small bits of leaks.
tried it…followed instructions thru an thru top leaks like crazy…..good design…reservoir flawed!
who is the artist and song???
NM…lol I purchased the smaller tub from Lowe's (18Gal), I removed the flip up handles, siliconed the small holes and adjusted the angles of the sprayers and BAM!!! No leaks
I followed your steps to a tee, and it leaks a lot in the handle area's bad! any Ideas?
Yes having legs drastically improves the balance of the sprayer manifold. I've change the design over the years but it can always be tweaked to your specifications.
I made a video of a cloner using the same tote as your did. It's surprising how well that tote works for this application. I should have made legs like you did for your mister set up. Great video!
The pump stays on 24/7. I don't have any videos of cloner running. This is only a guide to build the actual cloner. You can clone most plants, some are not cloneable though.
Is there anyway you could post a video of how the sprayers look when running? Also, what do you grow and how long do you run this for? 24/7 constant run or do you do like 1 min on 5 min off or something?
Thanks for the detailed video! Just what I have been looking for.
Sprayer manifold can be made smaller if you have issues with water leaks. By no means is it a perfect design but it is effective.
Which retirement home is this ?
