My first update for the 2015 gardening season. I have my seed starts going. My slow growing perennials and herbs are in. I also started peppers extra early. I want to have large plants going into the ground this year. I will eventually move them into a greenhouse to gain in size.

Im watching this now on august on the southern hemisphere. Its a very cold and rainy day here in the south of argentina, everything is dead. But im feeling the same excitement for the spring as you did back when you did this video. I always become excited come spring, but I must learn that it washes off with the heat of the summer. You seem to have managed it very well, care to share some lessons?

Update from planting 2/14/15, 50 rustic garden tomato seeds, no light, heating pad with hood, 42% seeds germination by 2/21/15. I removing the hood from germination tray and adding the grow lights, having problems getting lights 2 inches from tray, so I am going to boost up tray height using others trays. So far I did not get any molds on anything. I used the Viagrow Model # VRRTKIT Internet # 204764791, (Home Depot) 50 Plug tray kit the growing media is peat moss.
Would love to see a "blue print" for your grow closet. Def something I'd like to figure out how to build!

The babies look great! All my seedling died because I've been busy but this encourages me to start again.
I just germinated my Steakhouse Hybrid Tomatoes and placed them under the grow light. How long does the light stay on? Do I turn it off at night?
Great vid. I've just started with seedlings too. Luckily in South Australia we have a more Mediterranean climate and dont need to worry about frost. I just planted some Carolina Reaper & Trinidad Scorpion Chiilis. We're about mid-summer here but they should be all good thanks to your vids on how to germinate seeds. Got a few brussel sprouts & silverbeet seeds in to 🙂
Do you think that the LED wireless puck lights provide enough light for the light box? I was thinking of a small sized light box, say shoe box size, and perhaps 2 – 3 bright light puck lights on the lid. I don't want to waste my money if they are not bright enough.

I'm in North Jersey, I have been in touch with you since last year. I just wanted to let you know that Costco is selling the 8oz. foam cups 1000ct. for $14.49. I also wanted to ask you, when you transfer your plants from the cells to the foam cups, do you use the same mix you used for germinating the seeds or do you use another mix? Thank you very much.
I've watched several videos today and they all have herbicide commercials playing before them. It sucks, you all try to be organic and sustainable whenever possible. They are hitting hard with their commercials. It's like watching a train wreck.

I started my peppers in mid December here in IL. Too early? Maybe. Trying to maximize production.
Got my closet in full swing january 5th I started all the cool season stuff like you. I been waiting to pull the trigger on the peppers and maters. My last frost date is april 15th but ill probly pre plant in the next week or so and then do succession plantings this year. The closet grow really helps, I wont be spending as much for starts at the box stores etc and also by the time they go out they aren't as appetizing to the bugs.
