Kasian Healthy Cities CBC Studio One, Vancouver B.C. February 21, 2012 People across the planet are moving to cities in unprecedented numbers; we are at the cross section of growth and sustainability for our planet. In response, Kasian has established its annual Healthy Cities event to: • Create a forum to discuss what constitutes a “healthy” city and reassess our approach to urban development • Bring together various disciplines and points of view, stimulate dialogue and forge a more unified view amongst those responsible for shaping our urban environments • Facilitate relationships across different disciplines, and viewpoints, to benefit participants professionally and accelerate our transition to healthier, sustainable cities This was the third Healthy Cities event hosted by Kasian, and the first staged in Vancouver. The previous two events were located in Toronto, Ontario in 2010 and 2011. In addition to the Vancouver event, Kasian will also be hosting a Healthy Cities event in Edmonton later in 2012.
