Another tip on connecting conduit without welding, bending or 90s. cut a short piece of rebar (4-6") and bend it to 90 degrees. Insert in inside, and the joint is actually stronger than using the 90, since it's longer. Also can be dissembled rapidly for storage. You can also make other shapes, like vees for variable shapes, or like tees, by welding.

For trellis, I just started using t-posts as verticals and 10-foot 2x4s on edge as the supporting horizontal member.

I had some 2ish inch diameter steel pipe and some one inch wide flat bar stock which I used to fabricate a t-post cap/mounting plate for the 2x4s (welder required).

You could hang hundreds of pounds off it easily and it will likely last decades even though it cost me just a couple bucks.

you can tell this guy is not educated in gardening. He is very annoying saying ummm all the time and touching the same pumpkin 20 times in a 2 Minute discussion is worth a headache

Last summer I found coated rebar at the dollar store in different lengths and much cheaper than at the garden centre. I use it to stake my hydrangea and it might work for this project as well.

Hi John, I think pumpkin seeds are supposed to be a good source of magnesium in the diet. But if those pumpkins are grown in soil that has no magnesium from rock dust or other sources, will those pumpkin seeds actually have magnesium. I'm thinking pumpkin seeds bought from the store in bulk – do they really have magnesium, or if those pumpkins were grown in a mass NPK kind of setup, are those lacking on the magnesium side of things?

This guy is awesome. I'm located in Santa Rosa and am trying to get some vertical stuff going on my townhouse deck. This has inspired me to trellis my pumpkins since there's not enough room for them now

Don't know if this was mentioned before but you can buy a conduit bender relatively cheap and make those corner bends for free. For a 4' wide trellis you just take a piece of conduit about 6' long and bend the ends to make the corners. The straight conduit connectors are lots cheaper than the 90s. I've done this and it works great.

Awesome, thanks so much for sharing Tyler, Im going to do this, as I have a self sown pumpkin plant that needs a trellis, and it looks simple to do, and not too expensive. conduit can be painted too. add some solar lights and it will look fantastic on my back patio!!!
