Great video and method, thanks!! I have tried the same setup and started pulling on my zucchini plant with tomato clips tied onto a pole weeks ago. But so far it doesn't grow vertically at all. Does it need pruning to start growing up? Or do I have a variety unable to do this? Any advice would be great!
I planted what is called Lemon cucumbers. They are round and yellow like a lemon. very tasty. Hard to find the seeds here in Iowa.

Try surveyor tape, it won't damage the squash, tomatoes, etc like string or twine will.
what do you feed them could I feed them fish fertilizer
Great vid: thanks for making. I've trellised my squash on some bamboo poles (teepeed) and they're so big now I've got to try something else. Will try to figure out how to do this for my garden, as it is the best looking solution I've come across. I watched your other vid on pruning squash (tell the truth, I'd already done it because I can't even get in the garden). I wanted to see what might be the best way to prune them, and you made some fine suggestions I plant to use too. Subbed.

Omg thank you! I accidentally didn't space my squash far apart and have been worrying if my squash would end up dying ( I have a small raised garden bed and it's my first time gardening) so I'm glad there is hope! Plus your the first person to actually show me instead of just typing it out!

I absolutely love this idea. I lost 2 Crookneck plants earlier this summer to Vine Borers, but I to did not like the idea of my squash, that I was able to get, being on the ground. And I could not get to the bottom of the plant for maintenance issues.
But, I just transplanted my second season Crookneck and Zucchini plants, that I grew from seed, into the garden and I will definitely be staking them up. Plus, I imagine this will also help with mildew,fungus, and bacteria.
