Building a Raised Bed for gardening in contaminated soil, or schoolyards or cement or asphalt areas. Perfect for urban gardening and school gardening

This raised bed plan uses pressure treated lumber, but protects the clean garden soil from the treated lumber with a plastic membrane. Its supported by cement blocks that allow drainage.

I think this plan is great for school gardening programs. There’s no issue with soil contamination by using clean garden soil in the raised beds. If you do a soil test and find lead in your soil, build these.

School gardening with this easy raised bed design is a simple solution where they may not be much open space. You can build these and garden on an asphalt or cement playground.
