AeroFarms celebrated the groundbreaking of its global corporate headquarters in Newark, New Jersey on July 9th, 2015. A mission-driven company, we are setting a new standard for controlled urban agriculture. We are leading the way to address the global food crisis by building and operating indoor farms in cities across the United States and around the world, fundamentally transforming the business of agriculture to enable local food production at scale. Partnering with Goldman Sachs and Prudential, we are building in Newark New Jersey our new global headquarters and world’s largest indoor vertical farm for baby leafy greens and herbs. This transformative project will not only redefine the New Jersey as the Garden State, but also commercial agriculture as a whole. In addition, we have immediate plans to build multiple farms in major cities in both the United States and around the world, helping to address a truly global concern over how to grow safe, healthy food locally and at scale. Our groundbreaking was put together in collaboration with our financial, community, design and construction partners including RBH Group, Prudential Financial (Impact Investments), Goldman Sachs (Urban Investment Group), New Jersey State Department of Agriculture, New Jersey Acting Governor Kim Guadagno, The City of Newark including Mayor Ras Baraka and Councilman Augusto Amador, the Ironbound Community Corporation, New Jersey Economic Development Authority, KSS Architects and Hollister Construction.
