So far, no sign of even one of my 1100 Composting worms, but found this big one. No clue what he is but decided he wasn’t good to keep. Almost to the bottom of the tube (digging it out), found lots of black gold but no worms.

Apparently, food, water, and shade still isn’t enough to keep the worms alive in South Texas Summer heat 🙁

    That unknown plant looks like sage, and the grub may be a Japanese beetle. If you throw the grub(s) on your compost pile, the birds will eat them, because they love them. Looks like it is too wet for the worms as from what I know about them they just like soil that is slightly damp.
